Our mission is simple- to provide Arlington with an enjoyable, convenient and reliable store to purchase their favorite brands of beers and fine wines. In addition, we're committed to bringing the community interesting, inspiring and exceptional offerings along with a knowledgeable and courteous staff.

Arlington is Not a Dry Town!

Not since at least Prohibition in the early 20th century has there been a store that sells alcoholic beverages in Arlington. We are the first, and Menotomy is the first name Arlington was given so we thought it was fitting. Many residents of Arlington know just how to pronounce "Menotomy" but if you don't, ask one of them or one of us!

A Little History

Menotomy: [Men-ot-o-me] Noun
Definition: Arlington, Massachusetts

The Town of Arlington was originally settled by European colonists in 1635 as a village within the boundary of Cambridge, Massachusetts under the name Menotomy, an Algonquian word meaning "swift running water". A larger area, including land that was later to become the town of Belmont, and outwards to the shore of the Mystic River, which had previously been part of Charlestown, was incorporated in 1807 as West Cambridge. In 1867 the name "Arlington" was chosen in honor of those buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
